Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2017

September 18, 2017

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is by far my favorite thing at Walt Disney World. It has the best parade, best characters, best show, and of course TONS of free candy!
On select nights from the end of August through the beginning of November, the Magic Kingdom gets extra spooky for a hard ticket event called Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Between the special shows and parade, small details in the park definitely come out for the festivities.
Justine and I Disneybounded as Aurora and Maleficent and I'm just shocked that I made it through the whole night in leather leggings - in Florida.
The Haunted Mansion gets extra spooky with cast members covered in cobwebs and some special ghosts out on the lawn that interact with you!
Boo To You is the best parade that DIsney World has and it did not disappoint when we saw it Friday! We had some really really great character interactions too.
Then we ran over to Storybook Circus to see our favorite girl Minnie!
If you are trying to decide if the Halloween party is worth the money - let me tell you it is! I've been going since I was in 3rd grade and each time its amazing!
I would say more but I have no words. We had a perfect night with perfect weather and great friends. I couldn't be happier.

Disney College Program - Bon Voyage Brunch Review

September 14, 2017

Three of my favorite things are brunch, Prince Eric & the Boardwalk Resort. Put them together and throw in Flynn Rider and my best friend? Best. Day. EVER.
When the Bon Voyage Character Breakfast was first announced I thought I was dreaming. My two favorite Disney couples PLUS pancakes and mimosas?? At one of my favorite resorts? I couldn't believe it was real. And today I got to check it out!
The breakfast is at Trattoria Al forno on the Boardwalk. I had never been before but it was beautiful. I will totally be back for dinner one night!
When we first got to our table our server brought us out a frying pan full of Tangled and Little Mermaid themed pastries so I was already drooling. Then we ordered off of the provided menu (it's a sit-down meal not a buffet like other character dining). I was told by many of my friends to get the "Tower of Pancakes" and I was not disappointed!
It came with fresh fruit. bacon or sausage and a pile of the thickest pancakes I'd ever seen. I will say though, the food came out super quick and I was not expecting it.
Then it was time for characters! I had never met Flynn Rider before but he was great! He was super funny and treated us like 22 year olds not 5 year olds, which is always nice when dealing with characters.
They were also big fans of Justine's Tangled ears.
But then it was time for the moment I have waited 22 years for. I was finally going to meet the prince that I was convinced I would marry when I was 4 years old. Prince Eric.
He was also really great to meet and he was super funny. He could tell that I was excited (and basically there to see him) so he spent some time chatting with us and joking around. Ariel also came over and interacted with us and again they treated us like adults not kids. It was an experience I won't forget anytime soon.
Ariel was great as usual and will always be my favorite.
Then we were done! My only complaint is that it seemed kind of rushed. We got our food super quick, the character interactions didn't seem rushed, but as soon as we were done meeting them it felt like we were being pushed to leave which was odd because it wasn't like there was a line out the door or anything. Our reservation was at 7:50 and we were out of there by 8:50.
Then what else would we do with the low crowd levels due to the hurricane? We walked over to Epcot and rode almost everything before noon!
Which leads me into my next post about Food & Wine! I'm going later tonight to see the Plain White T's so keep an eye out for that!

Who is your favorite Disney prince? Let me know in the comments!

Disney College Program - Hurricane Irma

September 12, 2017

So I left Massachusetts to avoid blizzards and snow, but I think bad weather follows me everywhere I go. Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure you know that Hurricane Irma hit Florida this weekend and it was real interesting.
I had never been in the middle of a hurricane before, but all week I kept telling people that I was looking at it like a blizzard back home - I wasn't going to panic until important people (Disney) started to panic. I'm so lucky to have so many family and friends reaching out to me all weekend to check in but this is my favorite text ever from my aunt and 7 year old cousin:
They announced that the parks and resorts would be closing early Saturday night and all day Sunday and Monday. I closed EPCOT on Saturday where we had to prep the store for the storm and I signed up for the resort ride out crew to assist guests staying on property but I wasn't picked.
So Kourtney, Chelsea, Marigny and I camped out in our apartment for two days and waited out the storm. It was great because it was the perfect distraction from what was happening outside and it was nice to have two days off to do absolutely nothing but watch movies and eat snacks.
We took all of our mattresses out of our room to have a big slumber party in the living room and slept right through the eye of the storm
In the morning the sun was shining and we went out to see what the apartment complex looked like and while there were plenty of missing shutters, down trees and TONS of leaves and branches everywhere, MY CAR SURVIVED!
Then all we could do was wait for the Orange County curfew to be lifted so we could get out of the apartment and go have one of the most interesting meals of my life at Waffle House.
So we survived and it's back to business as usual today. The parks are open again, I'm going back to work and I honestly can't wait for things to be normal again. It's been a long week for sure.

Disney College Program: Halloween in Magic Kingdom

September 03, 2017

I don't think you understand how much I HATE Halloween. I've never liked it. I'm afraid of everything, I've only ever seen 2 scary movies in my whole life, Halloweekend in college always ended up being lame, I'm just not a fan. EXCEPT, when I'm at Disney because Halloween is the BEST time of year (next to Christmas but I haven't actually visited during the Christmas season) in Walt Disney World.
So because this is the best time of year, the Halloween decorations went up in Magic Kingdom last week! And I went over as soon as I could to look at ALL of them so I could share them with you guys!
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party has also begun and if you've never been, you need to go! It has great fireworks, rare characters, TONS of free candy, and the BEST parade in all of Walt Disney World; Boo To You!!
If you are going to any of the Halloween parties this year, keep an eye out for me at some of the trick or treat stops! I'll hopefully be rocking the bat headband a few times this year! :)
