Where Have I Been?

June 02, 2018

HELLO FRIENDS! Long time no see! Remember when I said the College Program is crazy busy? I think the fact that my last post was a Christmas playlist and it’s currently JUNE is the best proof I can give you of that. BUT I’M BACK and I’m so so excited to fill you in on everything that’s happened in the last 6 freaking months!
First update; I’m back in Massachusetts. My college program ended about a month ago and I’m back to living at home. So what happened? Well, the most simple explanation is that I’m broke. While I was planning on staying in Orlando past my internship, I quickly realized that it wouldn’t be the most financially responsible thing to do, (adulting is hard ya’ll).

So what am I doing now? Good question. I would say that if my life were a romantic comedy, I’m currently in the “my life is a mess but I’m working on it” montage that always plays out before something big and amazing happens. I just recently accepted a job as a key holder at one of my favorite stores, but I’m also actively applying and interviewing for a “big girl job”. And I’m (hopefully) going to be back to creating content for you guys on a regular basis!

The only thing I’m asking of you guys, is to bear with me for a bit while I make the transition from my Disney life, to my “normal” life. I’m still going to post about my college program, I have a lot of things I want to tell you about, but I also want to start posting more about some other things that are going on in my life.
I can’t thank you guys enough for sticking with me, following my posts, and not totally giving up on me, even though I’ve been gone for a while. And I hope you’re as excited as I am for what’s to come!

Christmas In Disney Springs

November 19, 2017

Christmas is here!!!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS OKAY. Halloween in the parks is cool and all, but nothing compares to Christmas to me. Living somewhere that goes so crazy for the holidays (so early) is a great distraction from the fact that I can't be home with my family for the big day. SO, this is the start of a series of Christmas posts that will be coming your way for the next 37 days!
First up: Disney Springs!
Ever since the springs opened on my last program, I have been known to spend way too much time walking around, window shopping and working on the back patio at Starbucks on my days off. But now it's all festive and amazing and I can't get enough of it!
Even the small subtle details in places you may not look are stunning.
And this tree is GOALS okay? It's so blinged out and beautiful in the Florida sun, it draws you in with huge chandelier looking ornaments, then blows you away when you notice the small details. Seriously A+ Christmas aesthetics.
And it's even better at night!

Although it's not the winter wonderland I'm used to at home, the mood and aesthetic all around Disney Springs is something that can't be beat.
Seeing palm trees lit up makes me feel like I'm living on Christmas Island and my Jimmy Buffet loving parents are probably so proud of that.

We still have a few weeks until Christmas, and 3 parks and a few resorts worth of decorations to cover! I LOVE CHRISTMAS.
Comment below with your favorite Christmas song for my upcoming playlist post :)

Life Update: I'm Staying In Florida!

November 17, 2017

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been missing for a few weeks, work has been crazy and I feel like I barely have time to just chill out and create content. BUT I have some exciting news and some great stuff planned for the next few months…. Because I’m staying in Florida! I extended my program from January-May and will be moving to a new work location after the holidays.
I am still a College Program Intern for now, though I have been networking my butt off in the hopes of getting my career truly started with this amazing company.
So what does this mean for you guys? It means I get to fill your hearts with a million posts about the holidays here, as well as some cool stuff in the Spring and you don’t have to listen to me moan about snow in Massachusetts!
Getting this extension is huge for me because it’s the next step in my Disney journey and I can’t wait to see where it takes me! Although I'm going to miss Mouse Gear and the family it has given me, I'm so happy to know that I will always have a home to come back to in Epcot and I'm going to make these last two months amazing!
Hope you’re all ready to follow along cause this is just getting good.
Also get ready for LOTS of Christmas content coming your way real soon!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2017

September 18, 2017

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is by far my favorite thing at Walt Disney World. It has the best parade, best characters, best show, and of course TONS of free candy!
On select nights from the end of August through the beginning of November, the Magic Kingdom gets extra spooky for a hard ticket event called Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Between the special shows and parade, small details in the park definitely come out for the festivities.
Justine and I Disneybounded as Aurora and Maleficent and I'm just shocked that I made it through the whole night in leather leggings - in Florida.
The Haunted Mansion gets extra spooky with cast members covered in cobwebs and some special ghosts out on the lawn that interact with you!
Boo To You is the best parade that DIsney World has and it did not disappoint when we saw it Friday! We had some really really great character interactions too.
Then we ran over to Storybook Circus to see our favorite girl Minnie!
If you are trying to decide if the Halloween party is worth the money - let me tell you it is! I've been going since I was in 3rd grade and each time its amazing!
I would say more but I have no words. We had a perfect night with perfect weather and great friends. I couldn't be happier.

Disney College Program - Bon Voyage Brunch Review

September 14, 2017

Three of my favorite things are brunch, Prince Eric & the Boardwalk Resort. Put them together and throw in Flynn Rider and my best friend? Best. Day. EVER.
When the Bon Voyage Character Breakfast was first announced I thought I was dreaming. My two favorite Disney couples PLUS pancakes and mimosas?? At one of my favorite resorts? I couldn't believe it was real. And today I got to check it out!
The breakfast is at Trattoria Al forno on the Boardwalk. I had never been before but it was beautiful. I will totally be back for dinner one night!
When we first got to our table our server brought us out a frying pan full of Tangled and Little Mermaid themed pastries so I was already drooling. Then we ordered off of the provided menu (it's a sit-down meal not a buffet like other character dining). I was told by many of my friends to get the "Tower of Pancakes" and I was not disappointed!
It came with fresh fruit. bacon or sausage and a pile of the thickest pancakes I'd ever seen. I will say though, the food came out super quick and I was not expecting it.
Then it was time for characters! I had never met Flynn Rider before but he was great! He was super funny and treated us like 22 year olds not 5 year olds, which is always nice when dealing with characters.
They were also big fans of Justine's Tangled ears.
But then it was time for the moment I have waited 22 years for. I was finally going to meet the prince that I was convinced I would marry when I was 4 years old. Prince Eric.
He was also really great to meet and he was super funny. He could tell that I was excited (and basically there to see him) so he spent some time chatting with us and joking around. Ariel also came over and interacted with us and again they treated us like adults not kids. It was an experience I won't forget anytime soon.
Ariel was great as usual and will always be my favorite.
Then we were done! My only complaint is that it seemed kind of rushed. We got our food super quick, the character interactions didn't seem rushed, but as soon as we were done meeting them it felt like we were being pushed to leave which was odd because it wasn't like there was a line out the door or anything. Our reservation was at 7:50 and we were out of there by 8:50.
Then what else would we do with the low crowd levels due to the hurricane? We walked over to Epcot and rode almost everything before noon!
Which leads me into my next post about Food & Wine! I'm going later tonight to see the Plain White T's so keep an eye out for that!

Who is your favorite Disney prince? Let me know in the comments!
